Here is a nice DIY project to make a simple bed tray. It is very easy to make and doesn’t require good carpenter skills. But why buy one if you can do it yourself easily? It is a very practical piece of furniture. You can enjoy your breakfast on it if you are too lazy to get up. Or you can put your laptop on it to enjoy a movie. Bed trays can be used for so many things. You can use this bed tray in the car, buses or train, as the bed tray is easy to carry. However, you can place this tray on the floor also. you can carry it to any places you want. Most of the bed trays come pre-assembled, although some bed trays have a more complex design and come with flexible legs. But they are very easy to assemble. Bed trays come in many sizes and designs to cater to the needs of laptop users, commercial establishments like hotels or guest houses, and for children who want a portable study or drawing table
The supplies I used for the bed trays.
1 – wood serving tray
2 – metal handles
3 – 6 screw
4 – one bottle of Amour Etch or paint in a marker pen Etch.
Start with wiping down the bed tray with a clean paper towel or with a small clean towel. Then you start to think what kind of bed tray you with like to paint. If you don’t have any idea you can use stencil paper glass. Once you have in mind what kind of bed tray you would like to make. you can start putting the stencils into the bed tray, make it fun and put as many stencils as you would you like.
Once all your stencils are in place you can add Amour Etch The bottle or the maker pen, whichever is easier for you. You can so add colors. The Amour etch comes in different colors. Remember there is no mistake, have fun and be creative.
You can add up to three coats. Wait 20 min for it to dry. Once its dry you can take off the stencil. Be careful not to mess it up. Once you are all done you can add the metal handle to the bed tray. Make sure to tighten the handles with the screws.
Bed Trays come in so many styles! So, you can choose one that suits your needs and decorating style! Some have legs, some don’t. Some have removable tops, sides that hold books and even cups for drinks.
Bed trays are also great to give a love one as gift or just because you made so many bed trays.
